Word Rush
Same passage for everyone. Three minutes. Accuracy is squared, so typing fast and sloppily scores worse than typing steadily and cleanly.

Why this is skill, not chance
The passage is fixed. It is chosen when the competition is created and is identical for every entrant — nobody gets an easier text, a shorter text or a friendlier word list. Nothing is generated while you type.
Because accuracy is squared, the formula rewards control rather than raw speed. A typist at 80 net WPM with 90% accuracy scores 64.8. A typist at 65 net WPM with 99% accuracy scores 63.7. Close — and that closeness is the point: two different skills, weighed against each other by a published rule rather than by luck.
Repeat this run and your score will land in a narrow band. That stability is the practical test of a game of skill: outcomes cluster around ability instead of scattering randomly.
